There are generally considered to be four types of trains running within Bangkok:

  • ARL (Airport Rail Link)
  • SRT (State Railway of Thailand)
  • MRT (Bangkok Metro)
  • BTS (Bangkok Skytrain)

When traveling from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the city, people use the ARL. For travel from Don Mueang Airport to the city, they use the SRT Red Line. To get to the Sukhumvit area, travelers might transfer from the ARL or SRT Red Line to the MRT. And to reach Siam, a transfer from the MRT to the BTS is usually necessary.

This time, we’d like to introduce a new station on the MRT Pink Line.

The Pink Line itself connects “Min Buri Station” in the east, about 10 kilometers north of Suvarnabhumi Airport, to “Nonthaburi Civic Centre Station” in the west. It runs east-west, south of Don Mueang Airport.

While tourists may not have had many opportunities to use it before, the opening of the IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Station should improve access to IMPACT Arena, making it easier to travel to and from concerts and events (although for events ending late at night, taxis or ride-hailing apps may still be necessary).

The Pink Line has a branch line connecting “Muang Thong Thani Station (PK10)” with the newly opened “IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Station (MT01)” and “Muang Thong Thani Lake (MT02)”.

Please note that the service between Muang Thong Thani Station and these two new stations is free from May 20th to June 16th, so if you have the chance, please do take advantage of it.
