About the Start of the Thai Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

Starting from May 1, 2025, everyone entering Thailand needs to complete an online registration called the TDAC (Thai Digital Arrival Card). This is the digital version of the paper arrival card that was used before.

Summary of Information from People Who Have Already Arrived in Thailand:

  • Is Registration Mandatory?
    • If you have completed the online registration properly, you don’t need to show a QR code at immigration. You can enter the country using your passport, fingerprints, and facial scan, just like before April 30th.
  • When Should I Register?
    • You should register between 3 days before your arrival to Thai.
  • Is Registration Easy? Does it Take Time?
    • Registration takes an average of about 10~15 minutes.
    • Be careful, as you’ll have to start over if you make a mistake.
    • The address entry section (especially for regional areas in Thailand) a bit confusing.
  • What Should I Do with the QR Code After Registration?
    • You will receive an email with a PDF attachment after registering, but you don’t need to show it at immigration.
    • However, a QR code will appear on the registration completion screen, so it might be a good idea to take a screenshot or print it out just in case, as the QR code might not be included in the email.
  • What About Procedures at Airports in your countries?
    • Check-in counters at the airports in your countries might ask to see confirmation of your TDAC registration.
  • What If I Couldn’t Register in Advance? What If I Don’t Have a Smartphone?
    • You can still register after arriving at the airport in Bangkok.
    • There are QR codes displayed before the immigration line.
    • If you didn’t register beforehand and don’t have a smartphone, you can use one of the terminals available before immigration (only 6 machines).
  • Is Internet Access Available?
    • You can use the airport’s free Wi-Fi to complete the registration.
