According to the analysis results of the mid-term national census conducted by the General Statistics Office (GSO) in 2024, Vietnam’s population has exceeded 101 million.
Vietnam is the third most populous country in Southeast Asia, following Indonesia and the Philippines, and ranks 16th in the world.
The nationwide average population density is 305 people per square kilometer (㎢), which is an increase of 15 people per square kilometer compared to 2019. In Southeast Asia, Vietnam’s population density is the third highest, following Singapore and the Philippines.
