Chiang Mai is introducing the Chiang Mai Tram by Lannatique, a new electric sightseeing service designed to offer visitors a cleaner and more convenient way to explore the city.
The air-conditioned, zero-emission electric vehicles feature contemporary Lanna-inspired styling and are intended to connect key cultural and historic attractions around the Old City moat, including Tha Phae Gate, Wat Phra Singh, Wat Chedi Luang and Warorot Market.
The initiative aims to reduce traffic and air pollution while supporting sustainable tourism and local businesses. A separate, larger electric tramway project is also planned for the future
